Idahoans know that the Gem State is truly special. Our great state is home to certain things that tend to set us apart from other states around the country. We have landmarks, food, businesses, and more that you just can’t find anywhere else. In fact, here are just seven things you can only find in Idaho.

Craters of the Moon is one of the most fascinating natural wonders in the entire world and it is found right here in Idaho. This is essentially large fields of hardened lava flow that date back thousands of years. Hike, camp, and explore this incredible area in the state — you may not even feel like you are in Idaho anymore!
2. Potato Ice Cream
Of course, our list had to include Idaho’s iconic dessert — potato ice cream! If you want to try it, the birthplace of this dessert is

Shoshone Falls . These falls are 212 feet tall and fall off of a 925-feet-wide cliff. Shoshone Falls are even larger than Niagara Falls back East, which is why they are often referred to as the Niagara Falls of the West.
