A brand spankin' new brewery opened up just a few months ago in the scenic North Idaho town of Sandpoint. Matchwood Brewing Company boasts a cozy vibe, good company, and some downright delicious craft beer.
Matchwood is a neighborhood brewhouse that came as a result of years of hard work by the owners. It took a long time for this major Granary District building to be effectively transformed into a brewery and restaurant, but it sure was worth the wait.
The brewhouse was created with the community in mind. This isn't simply a place to grab a quick drink. It's a place for the neighborhood to come together. The brewery's design, complete with stages and a play area for kids, reflects that.
Even the bartop, made of 130-year-old Western White Pine, was designed as an ode to the surrounding region. Here you can enjoy a diverse array of English and American ales, perfectly handcrafted in-house by the owners themselves.
Along with the delicious craft brews, the brewhouse also offers up a menu of classic comfort food items. Be sure to try their signature dish: the pasty. This homemade handpie can be filled with a variety of ingredients, but is traditionally stuffed with steak, potato, and onion.
Upon visiting this rustic brewhouse, you'll soon discover that this isn't just one of many new craft beer spots in Idaho. It's a gathering place for friends, family, and neighbors. Be sure to join them soon!
You'll find Matchwood Brewing Company at 513 Oak St, Sandpoint, ID 83864. They are open from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm 7 days a week.
