Located in north central Idaho is the charming town of Kamiah which is home to just 1,200 residents. Not only does Kamiah have a fascinating history dating back to before Lewis and Clark, but the area is downright breathtaking.
The town is nestled right beside the mighty Clearwater River, which is simply picturesque all year long. The close proximity to wilderness areas makes Kamiah an ideal place for those who enjoy playing outdoors.

Kamiah is a paradise for fishermen and hunters. Both the magnificent steelhead trout and chinook salmon commonly travel up the Clearwater. And since the town is so close to prime area for big game hunting, this is the perfect place for your next hunting excursion.
The Kamiah valley is steeped in a rich history. The area was originally home to the Nez Perce Tribe who returned to the valley every winter. Lewis and Clark even camped in the valley for several weeks on their journey westward.
This town is truly one of Idaho's most incredible hidden gems. It's odd not many people know of this area which lives so close to some of the state's most gorgeous wilderness areas. However, maybe that's why Kamiah is so wonderful.
