Coeur d’Alene National Forest in northern Idaho is an outdoor lover’s paradise. This forest is home to an old cedar grove where you can walk among trees that date back hundreds of years. The Settlers Grove Interpretive Trail is one hike in this grove where you’ll not only walk among incredible natural wonders like these ancient cedar trees, but you’ll also cross beautiful bridges that take you over a flowing creek. Just north of the small town of Mullan is Settler’s Grove of Ancient Cedars. This remarkable cedar grove is home to giant cedar trees that date back hundreds of years to when Christopher Columbus walked on the earth. And, one of the best ways to explore this area is on the Settler’s Grove Interpretive Trail.
This trail is easy and well maintained, making it the perfect outdoor destination for the entire family. There is also very little elevation gain, making the journey even more enjoyable.
As you walk through the grove of ancient trees, you will be completely immersed in some of Idaho’s most remarkable natural wonders. This forest is green, thick, and beautiful.
The Settlers Grove Interpretive Trail also winds multiple times over the West Fork Eagle Creek. This means you will cross multiple bridges of all sizes as you continue on your journey.
But, with towering, ancient trees, footbridges, a creek, and easy terrain, the Settlers Grove Interpretive Trail may just become your new favorite hike in northern Idaho. If anything, it is one trail you’ll want to explore when you just want to spend some time outdoors.
