Calling all foodies! If you consider yourself a foodie or you just love a tasty meal, there is one festival in Idaho that you cannot miss — the Boise Greek Food Festival. This is the longest-running food festival in Idaho and the minute you arrive, your mouth will water. With the best Greek food, live entertainment, church tours, and more, you’ll want to add this summer event to your bucket list.
The Boise Greek Food Festival is actually an annual fundraiser for Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. This is the longest-running food festival and has been an annual tradition in the City of Trees for 40 years.
There is also quite the selection of Greek side dishes and we suggest you try each one. The dishes range from salads to spanakopita. Try the dolmades, which are grape leaves stuffed with herb-seasoned beef and rice.
Of course, you can always just devour plate after plate of Greek desserts. There is quite a variety of treats sold at this Greek food festival including baklava and a Greek walnut cake. Make sure you try some of the Greek cookies as well!
In addition to the delicious food, you will enjoy two full days of musicians, performances, and dances. No matter when you attend this Idaho food festival, you'll never be bored.
While you can always sit back and enjoy the live music, put on your dancing shoes! Throughout the festival, there are dancing performances and even free Greek dance lessons.
The Saints Constantine and Helen Church was built in the 1950s and features both Greek and Byzantine architecture. During your tour, you will learn a little more about this beautiful building and its history. Visit the festival’s website for tour times and other information.
This year’s Boise Greek Food Festival will take place June 3-4, 2022 at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church on Bannock Street in Boise. You can learn about the festival’s hours, performances, food, and more on its website.
For another flavorful summer festival in Boise that you will not want to miss, plan a visit to Savor Idaho, a wine festival at the Boise Botanical Garden on June 12, 2022.
