The concept of jalapeño wine was born nearly a decade ago when Crystal and Von Potter began creating wine with both grapes AND jalapeño peppers. At first, the idea of sipping on wine that's made with spicy peppers may not seem so appetizing, but believe it or not, Potter's unique wine is always flying off the shelves.
They started off selling their jalapeño wine at the Boise Farmers Market and then the Capital City Public Market. The product took off! It turns out jalapeño wine is strangely delicious, and it's something that all wine lovers simply have to try for themselves.
If you can't make it to the farmers market to purchase your own bottle of jalapeño wine, you can simply drop by their urban winery and tasting room in Garden City. They currently boast two types of jalapeño wine to choose from: Original and Chipotle Jalapeño.
However, the most popular jalapeño product the winery sells is the Jalapeño Wine Lemonade! During summertime, the winery has trouble keeping this delicious concoction in stock because it's so well-loved.
If jalapeño wine isn't really your thing, you can always enjoy a glass of one of the traditional reds or whites that Potter Wines offers. They have a variety to choose from, like the beloved Liquid Lunch Chardonnay or a blend simply known as The Red.
This urban winery in Garden City may be small, but they are creating some big and bold flavors in Idaho's wine scene. Jalapeño wine is just too unique to pass up, so stop by their tasting room and enjoy a glass of Potter Wines' specialty!
