We are very blessed to live in Idaho. Not only is this one of the most beautiful places to live in the country but there are attractions and activities for every member of the family — regardless of physical challenges. In fact, there are attractions and activities for young children with physical limitations, including multiple accessible and inclusive playgrounds. While Boise is home to more than a dozen of these play structures, there is one inclusive playground in Pocatello, Idaho, that’s quite impressive.
Welcome to Brooklyn’s Playground. Located at OK Ward Park on Quinn Road in Pocatello, this playground is one of the most impressive in the entire state.
The creation of Brooklyn’s Playground was a community affair, with numerous volunteers. This playground became the first fully inclusive playground in the Pocatello-Chubbuck area.
This was something the community was very excited about as approximately 11 percent of students within the Pocatello-Chubbuck school district have a disability.

The playground is named after a young girl — Brooklyn Fisher — who lives in the community and has spina bifida. Her parents led the effort to build the playground.
This is no small playground either. It offers numerous amenities to allow for accessibility and social inclusion. It is designed to let children’s imaginations run wild.
Throughout the playground, you’ll find ramps and slides. You’ll also notice that the ground is not made with wood or rubber chips. Rather, it is flat and smooth, allowing children, particularly those in wheelchairs or walkers, to easily move.
Children of all ages will love imagining, playing, sliding, and more when they visit Brooklyn’s Playground in Pocatello. It is one fully inclusive playground in Idaho where everyone can have a wonderful time.
