Every winter, the Automobile Loop through the monument is closed to motorized traffic and groomed for those who hope to check "Skiing On The Moon" off of their bucket list.

The groomed Winter Trail is 4-7 miles in length and can be tailored to both ability and time constraints. With mostly level terrain or gentle hills, most people can ski the entire loop in 2 to 4 hours. And the best part? It's completely free!
