Located in Pocatello, the Fort Hall Replica is a true reproduction of the original Hudson's Bay Fort. It's open to visitors from June through September. Admission costs just $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for children.
Based on the original plans obtained from Hudson's Bay Company along with descriptions from people who actually visited, the Fort Hall Replica is an impressive piece of living history. In fact, it was constructed to scale using traditional by-hand methods.
Originally built in 1834, the real Fort Hall trading post greeted countless travelers and pioneers who visited the area during the 19th century. Officially deconstructed in 1863 to help build a stage station, the original fort is now but a memory, but it's one that will never be forgotten.
Visitors are encouraged to drop by the replica and witness a rare glimpse of Idaho before it became Idaho. During your visit, you'll come across a variety of historical artifacts, like the Fort Hall Diary which is composed of firsthand accounts of the original fort.
Take your time as you wander among the fort's recreated buildings, passing structures like the Company Hall, Blacksmith and Carpenter's Room, and the Frontier Room. You can almost imagine the explorers and traders dwelling within these walls!
