The hike itself is by no means long or strenuous, but finding the trail requires quite the drive so be prepared. To get there, you'll take Highway 200 east from Sandpoint until you reach Trestle Creek Road. Turn left and follow the road 16 miles to Lightning Creek Road and then turn right.
After approximately half a mile, you'll find a turnout where you can park next to the trailhead. The trail itself is just over a mile and it's easily manageable, even among casual or beginning hikers.
