The castle, aptly named “The Idaho Castle,” proves that our state is full of hidden treasures that are just waiting to be uncovered.
Please note, the Idaho Castle has permanently closed.
The hidden castle looks simply stunning overlooking Lake Pend Oreille in a tiny town called Hope, located about 15 miles from Sandpoint. Surrounded by dense forestry, the castle surprisingly doesn't look out of place. It really looks like something out of a fairy tale!
The castle contains 6,300 square feet of living space and you'll instantly feel like you're living in luxury.
It's the perfect place to rent for large get-togethers, like family reunions or holiday celebrations. How many people can say they've slept in a legitimate castle?
There are four large bedrooms and one kid's bedroom (with bunk bed) in the castle.
The bedrooms contain either a king or queen bed, and most come equipped with a private bathroom. The Tower Room is a favorite among guests for its incredible views!
The castle is humongous. It can easily accommodate large families and still have room left over!
Although this hidden castle is located in one of the most gorgeous areas of Idaho, you might find that you're okay with staying inside the whole time. The castle comes with many amenities including an entertainment room complete with a pool table and a 10 foot granite bar.
Although the castle certainly gives off some "medieval" vibes, the interior is very elegant and modern. You'll feel like royalty walking down this beautiful staircase.
The views of the lake are to die for. Can you imagine relaxing on this patio while looking out onto a view like this? The castle is like a hidden slice of paradise in Idaho.
You'll definitely want to do some exploring of the surrounding areas. With such easy access to the lake, this is a prime spot for water activities. Or you can take advantage of one of the nearby hiking trails in the area. If you're a skier or snowboarder, the famous Schweitzer Mountain Resort is just a short drive away.
The castle is ideal for large groups looking for a fantastic place to spend the night. The price varies depending on the time of year, but is generally around $350 per night.
It's pretty amazing that you can experience this gorgeous castle for yourself. The beautiful views and the private setting will have you wishing this place was your permanent home. If you're looking for a storybook worthy experience, then you definitely need to check out the Idaho Castle.
