The lookout and surrounding area are only open during the summertime after the snow melts, typically from late June until October. You can get there from Riggins by taking US 95 south for nearly a mile, turning right on Forest Road 517, and driving 17 miles to the Seven Devils Campground.

Once at the parking lot for Seven Devils Campground, continue on road 517 for 1.25 miles to the lookout. From here you can hop on the trail to Heaven's Gate Lookout. The road to this area is remote, steep, and long, but just know that the view is totally worth it!
