If you live in Idaho's Lewis Clark Valley (or will be visiting soon), you'll definitely want to be sure to check out the Halloween-themed attraction at Hells Gate State Park. Every year, they host a haunted hayride and it's just as entertaining as it is spooky!
Located in Lewiston, Hells Gate State Park is home to an extraordinary landscape at the entrance to Hells Canyon and on the shores of the Snake River. It makes for a wonderful place to explore, but come Halloween it takes on an entirely new personality.
This year, the park's haunted hayride will take place on October 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This family-friendly event is just the right blend of haunted house-style spooks and age-appropriate fun, so don't be afraid to bring both young and old.
Participants will hop aboard the hay-filled trailer and embark on an entertaining ride through the park's campground. The campground will be completely decked out with all sorts of Halloween decor, both of the kitschy and spooky variety.
In addition to the eclectic decor, scare actors will pop up every now and then to make you jump. After all, it's not Halloween without a good scare! Don't worry, though. As long as you stay on the trailer you will be just fine.
The haunted hayride has been a crowd-pleasing event for several years now. The location within one of Idaho's most stunning state parks makes it one of the most unique Halloween events the state has to offer, and it's bound to leave you with some chilling memories.
Keep in mind that entrance to any state park costs $5 per vehicle, unless you have the Idaho State Parks Passport. Additionally, there is a $1 admission charge per person for the hayride. Get into the spooky spirit and check out this unique event this year!
