Our flower road trip begins in Stanley. Not only is this small town full of recreational opportunities but all over the area, you will find gorgeous fields of wildflowers. If you want a scenic drive, travel on Highway 21 for some of our favorite views. You may also want to pull out your hiking boots and head on a wildflower trail such as the Yellow Belly Lake Trail or Fourth of July Lake Trail.

2. Pettit Lake

Located in the Sawtooth National Forest is another area where you can find colorful wildflowers — Pettit Lake. I recommend spending the day at the Pettit Lake Day Use Area, where you can find picnic tables and vaulted toilets. You may also consider tackling the Yellow Belly Lake to Pettit Lake Trail, a challenging route but a great place away from the crowds.
