Not far from Moscow in Northern Idaho is a beautiful nature preserve known as Idler’s Rest. This recreation site has been around since the early 1900s and when you arrive, you may just feel like you’ve stepped into a fairy tale. With large, gorgeous trees, wooden bridges, log steps, and more, this is one area of Idaho that is sure to leave you enchanted.

Idler’s Rest is the perfect place to get into nature and explore. There are multiple trails all around the nature preserve, but many of them are quite short. However, if you combine several of these trails, they form a large loop that is just over one mile.

The trails you will want to combine for this one-mile loop include Meadow View Trail, Cedar Trail, and the Highland Loop Trail.
This large loop trail is considered quite easy. There is little elevation gain and the trail is well-maintained, making it perfect for the entire family, including those with little hiking experience.
