The small, rural community of Fairfield is the one and only city in Idaho’s Camas County. With a population of just a little over 400 residents, it’s the type of place that doesn’t see a lot of action. However, many people pass through on their way to the surrounding natural attractions, such as Soldier Mountain Ski Area to the north or Magic Reservoir to the east. The next time you find yourself in this area, consider a stop at this rustic drive-in restaurant is a must. Known for their giant burgers and rough ‘n tumble vibe, this restaurant is well-worth the journey all the way out here.
Located way out in the boonies, the small town of Fairfield isn't exactly known for its wide selection of dining options. However, it IS home to one seriously amazing drive-in restaurant called The Wrangler, and it's definitely worth visiting.
The Wrangler Drive-In is definitely a popular spot for both Fairfield locals and visitors. Famous for their massive portions, including a giant 2-pound burger, this place doesn't skimp when it comes to serving up tasty American cuisine.
This small town joint boasts a surprisingly large menu, so be prepared to make some important decisions. With around a dozen different burgers to choose from along with a vast selection of sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken burgers, and dinner baskets, this place is everything you could want out of an all-American burger stop.
If you'd like a taste of the Wrangler's best, you can't go wrong with their iconic patty melts. The Roadkill Patty Melt may not sound appetizing, but the combination of grilled buttermilk bread, ham, and both Swiss and American cheese is definitely bound to hit the spot.
However, the quaint drive-in is most famous for their massive 2-pound burger known as the Jackalope. As you'd expect, this thing is massive, but even the restaurant's "regular" burgers are way larger than your typical burger joint.
The Wrangler is definitely a local favorite, but this middle-of-nowhere eatery has also caught some national attention recently. Earlier this year, the restaurant was actually visited by the Food Network show called "The Best Thing I Ever Ate." We have to say, we can definitely see why!
The Wrangler Drive-In is truly everything you could want from a roadside burger joint in the remote Idaho landscape. After just one visit to this beloved spot, you'll find yourself wishing you lived just a little bit closer to this gem.
