Listen up, dessert lovers! There's a seriously unique sweet shop in Caldwell that is so worth checking out. This shop is dedicated solely to producing the tastiest marshmallows you've ever had, and it's amazing.
The store's creation is actually thanks to a desire to open a gourmet s'mores shop. The owners, Stacy and Russ Nelson, credit their daughter for coming up with the idea after a night spent roasting marshmallows over a backyard fire.
Like many family-owned businesses, it started out small. The couple experimented with batch after batch of marshmallows, often selling them to friends and family. It wasn't long before the small business expanded and they started setting up at harvest festivals, farmers markets, and events like weddings and Christmas parties.
Originally called "The S'mores Station", this small family operation was more like a catering business of sorts. However, there was one major flaw with the concept. Customers wanted to actually buy the gourmet mallows, and they couldn't.
It was then that the Nelsons decided to focus their sights on creating and selling their gourmet marshmallows. They changed their name to "Fireside Mallow Co." and set up shop at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell.
When you walk into their retail store, the first thing that will hit you is the strong aroma of sugar in the air. There's truly no better smell! On the shelves you'll find bags of uniquely flavored mallows like Banana Bread, Huckleberry, Peanut Butter, Mint Chocolate Chip, Birthday Cake, and so much more.
The marshmallows are all made completely in-house from scratch. And there's no artificial stuff like high fructose corn syrup or preservatives. These fluffy, sugary gems are made from all-natural ingredients.

Fireside Mallow Co. is a truly unique sweet shop that you definitely need to visit. It's not very often you see gourmet marshmallows like these for sale! Their Indian Creek Plaza store is open on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
