Over the years, Rock Creek General Store has definitely made a name for itself as one of the most prominent Christmas lights displays in Southern Idaho. It's easy to see why! The epic show of string lights and Christmas decor is truly a spectacular sight to witness.
The display itself spans three acres right next to the general store. The lights typically go up around Thanksgiving and stay up through Christmas, putting on a show every night from dusk to midnight.
Believe it or not, the display started out as a humble family affair by Roy and Sam Wojcik. They ended up moving the display from their personal home to their business, the Rock Creek General Store, in 2013 and they've seen crazy support from the community ever since.
They estimate that around 100,000 visitors come out every year to see the general store's magnificent display of lights. Boasting over half a million lights, it's definitely a display that's worth driving out of your way for. In fact, you may just want to make a tradition out of it.
Admission to the display is free of charge. There is a short gravel trail that winds its way around the display. Visitors are welcome to traverse it either on foot or by car. Just remember to dress warmly for the frigid evening temperatures!
