Originally founded in 1884, Wallace is a town that thrives off of its rich history. In fact, it's one of only four cities in the United States that is entirely on the National Register of Historic Places.

And it's no wonder why! Wallace's main strip is loaded with old buildings. It's easy to feel like you've been transported back to the 19th century while strolling it. One of the town's most iconic structures is the Northern Pacific Depot, now home to a museum that preserves the history of railroading in the area.

Outdoor attractions are also abundant in and outside of town. You could fill an entire weekend exploring places like the historic Nine Mile Cemetery that has graves dating back to the 1880s. The Pulaski Tunnel Trail and Historic Mullan Trail are both amazing adventures near Wallace that we've written about in the past.
