Froyo Bubble Bar had its official grand opening at the end of last summer and they've made quite an impression on the small community of Rigby since then. It looks like your typical frozen yogurt shop at first, but just wait until you see what goodies await you inside.
The unique sweet shop specializes in frozen yogurt AND bubble waffles. What's a bubble waffle, you ask? Simply put, they're waffles made with an egg-based batter and cooked in a special waffle maker that creates bubbles instead of squares.
The result is a delightful (and photogenic) little treat! Bubble waffles are typically eaten plain, but where's the fun in that? Customize your waffle with their assortment of tasty toppings that includes fruit, candy, and more.
Bubble waffles are a popular street food in Hong Kong and that's where the restaurant's owner, Sarah Bindrup, got the idea for Froyo Bubble Bar. She and her husband decided to bring this Hong Kong specialty all the way to eastern Idaho by making it the star of their new family-oriented dessert place.
The best thing about the bubble waffle is that you can enjoy it anyway you'd like. By itself or with one of the shop's delicious frozen yogurt flavors, this is a sweet treat that everybody can love.
