Idaho is a hiker’s paradise. All over this gorgeous state, you will find trails that take you to natural wonders, gorgeous viewpoints, and even a few hidden gems. While some of the best hikes in Idaho are family-friendly adventures, others are much more challenging. Today, I want to highlight one of these challenging trails. The Chain Lakes Basin Trail in the White Clouds Wilderness Area is one hike that will challenge you mentally and physically. It’s a 16.5-mile out-and-back trail but despite the long distance, it’s worth every step. You’ll venture to a series of alpine lakes that you can only enjoy by hiking.
