Hiding out at Nampa Municipal Airport is one of the strangest restaurants we've encountered. The Tower Grill is a one-of-a-kind restaurant that allows visitors to gaze at planes taking off while they enjoy their food. This is bound to be a dining experience you remember for years to come.
The Tower Grill is actually a pretty new addition to Idaho. It originally opened in Fall of 2016. However, it's quickly become a favored place to grab some grub for locals. After all, it's not often you find a restaurant located on a real, actual runway.
The restaurant is located just off runway 29 and 11, just a stone's throw away from the iconic Warhawk Air Museum. It's a great place to stop and grab some delicious food either before or after you check out the historic planes at the museum.
The owner, Nate Lindskoog, grew up around planes. The Tower Grill was born out of his love for planes and the restaurant industry. Lindskoog has both a passion for food and also for bringing people together in a cozy, memorable environment.
The unique restaurant is most well-known for their breakfast items. You can't go wrong with breakfast classics such as Biscuits & Gravy, French Toast, Chicken Fried Steak, or the hearty Tri-Motor Omelet.
Breakfast is their main forte, but their lunch menu is just as divine. The menu is full of different varieties of burgers and sandwiches, many of which are named after airplanes such as The P-38 (BBQ Bacon Burger) or The Spitfire (Burger with jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and Sriracha mayo).
Every seat in the house provides stellar views of the runway just outside the cafe. Alternatively, you can always hang out on the patio and watch planes take off while enjoying a hot cup of coffee. For a truly spectacular dining experience unlike any other, be sure to visit The Tower Grill soon!
You'll find it at 105 Municipal Dr, Nampa, ID 83687. They are open 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Wednesday through Monday, except on Sunday when they are open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. They are also open for evening service on Fridays only from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
