After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
In a state with approximately 750 miles of stunning coastline and hundreds of pristine beaches, it is not terribly shocking that you won’t find many traditional water parks in Hawaii. But sometimes you want to ditch the beach, and simply kick back, relax, and float down a lazy river. Well, you’re in luck, because Hawaii’s only traditional water park is home to a dreamy 800-foot lazy river that’s tailor-made for a leisurely summer afternoon. Ready to make a splash?
Welcome to Wet’n’Wild, the perfect place to go when you’re just not feeling the beach.
Located on the leeward side of Oahu in Kapolei, Wet’n’Wild is one of seven water parks operating under the name Wet’n’Wild in the United States and Australia.
Nestled on 29 acres and surrounded by natural cliffs, lush, tropical landscaping, and more palm trees than you could possibly count, it’s hard to deny that Wet’n’Wild’s location is perfectly picturesque.
And while the park is home to some pretty thrilling adventures — more than 25 of them, to be exact — we’re here for the Kapolei Kooler, an 800-foot lazy river that is surrounded by a lush tropical garden and features cool, crystal clear water.
Unwind as you float through cave-like 10-foot walls, but watch out for the occasional rushing rapids, waterfall, and waterspout sure to add a little cool delight to your lazy river experience.
We could spend all day floating along this lazy river, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t share with you some of the many exhilarating attractions found here. From a splash pad perfect for curious keiki…
