The tree tunnel is approximately one mile long, and it’s quick to drive through, although it leaves a lasting impression.

This particular tree tunnel has been in existence for over 100 years. It started when Pineapple Baron Walter McBryde gifted 500 eucalyptus trees to the community of Kauai’s South Shore.
Called “A Grand Gateway,” the trees stand at an impressive 100 feet high.

The branches connect above, forming a natural canopy. It provides lovely shade and natural beauty for all those that travel beneath them.
