With approximately 750 miles of stunning coastline, the Hawaiian Islands are home to some of the world’s greatest beaches. While we are happy to visit any of our islands’ incredible beaches, there are some beaches with warm, crystalline turquoise waters that are a cut above the rest. While you will find several beaches, bays, and even lagoons with crystal-clear, pristine water, Hanalei Bay is easily one of our favorites. Let’s dive in, shall we?
Nestled on the northern shore of Kauai, this near-perfect semi-circle of white sand is two miles long and 125 feet wide.
And while the sparkling sand found at Hanalei Bay is stunning enough on its own, it is the crystalline waters of this beautiful bay that will take your breath away and keep you coming back again and again.
With such a magnificent setting and crystal-clear turquoise water, it’s easy to see why this is a favorite destination among locals and tourists alike.
Hanalei Bay is comprised of three beach parks: Black Pot Beach Park, Hanalei Pavilion Beach Park, and Wai'oli Beach Park. Each park features restrooms, showers, and parking. You will also find several public right-of-ways along the bay.
At Black Pot Beach Park, you will find the mouth of the Hanalei River as well as the stunning 300-foot-long Hanalei Pier, an ideal spot for fishing, jumping off for a nice swim, or taking in a signature Hawaiian sunset.
With calm waves more predictable surf conditions, summer is the best time to visit this picturesque bay, so what are you waiting for? Pack up your beach bag and enjoy a picturesque afternoon in some of the most crystalline waters in Hawaii!
Looking to embark on the perfect Hawaii beach day? Explore the charming town of Hanalei in the morning and then head to Hanalei Bay to splash in its crystalline waters in the afternoon.
