Spring is in the air, and we can’t wait to explore all of these magical destinations scattered across the Hawaiian Islands. While Hawaii might not experience winter like our mainland friends, it has been rainy and chilly lately, and we can’t wait for warmer weather, sunny days, and blooming flowers. Luckily for us, these 13 destinations are perfectly picturesque year round, but especially worth a visit this Spring.
1. Kula Ali’i Lavender Farm, Maui
Located 4,000 feet above sea level, the Kula Ali’i Lavender Farm gets a great deal of rain, resulting in lush, green scenery, and flourishing lavender. The cool, dry climate found on the slopes of Mount Haleakala means lavender can thrive year-round. The beautiful, fragrant lavender isn’t the only thing to see at this gorgeous farm — visitors will also be rewarded with panoramic views of the entire western half of the island.

2. Koko Crater Botanical Garden, Oahu
On the outside of this tuff cone is the popular Koko Head Stairs, while on the inside, you will find that extensive plant collections occupy 60 acres of the inner slopes and basin of this 200-acre volcanic crater found on Oahu’s southeastern shore. Flora includes native Hawaiian and African plants, a plumeria grove, dryland palms, and large cactus and succulent garden.

3. The Inn at Kulaniapia Falls, Hawaii Island
This charming inn located on Hawaii Island, just outside of Hilo on the Waiau Stream on the slopes of Mauna Kea is an inn so charming, you’ll never want to leave. 5. Kahekili Highway, Maui
Meandering along Maui’s northwestern coast, Kahekili Highway, also known as County Route 240, is notoriously narrow and winding. Far less traveled than most highways on Hawaii, Kahekili Highway stretches between Honokohau and Waihe'e, serves as the back door to west Maui, and is home to such points of interest as Honokohau Bay, Nakalele Blowhole, and Kahakuloa Head. It is also easily one of the most narrow roads in Hawaii, and it is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves long, winding drives along the coast.

6. Byodo-In Temple, Oahu
Located within the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park in Kaneohe, the Byodo-In Temple is a half-size-scale replica of a famous temple in Kyoto, Japan that is more than 950 years old AND a United Nations World Heritage Site. The Hawaii replica, however, is less than 100 years old. The shrine was dedicated in 1968 to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants in Hawaii, and couldn’t be located in a more picturesque setting. You won’t find a better spot to reflect, relax, and take in Hawaii’s natural beauty and history anywhere else on the island.

7. Wailua River & Fern Grotto, Kauai
The Wailua River was once the sacred capital of ancient Kauai and the birthplace of island royalty but is also home to a wonderful riverboat cruise you’ll want to add to your Hawaii bucket list. Located in the heart of Hilo — Hawaii’s oldest city — near Coconut Island on the breathtaking Banyan Drive, is Liliuokalani Park and Gardens, a positively enchanting slice of waterfront paradise. The meandering path that winds its way through this charming park will easily transport you to Japan and is perfect for a relaxing stroll. 11. Waimea Canyon Trail, Kauai
Located in western Kauai, Waimea Canyon is often referred to as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific," and though the expansive canyon is not as big — or as old — as its Arizona cousin, you will surely never experience anything quite like this geological wonder in Hawaii. Nearly 14 miles long, one mile wide, and more than 3,600 feet deep, the stunning Waimea Canyon is full of striking cliffs, incredible colors, and cascading waterfalls; it is perhaps Hawaii’s most unspoiled natural beauty. 12. Leilani Farm Sanctuary, Maui
Located on eight acres of lush, rolling farmland in Haiku, this all-volunteer non-profit animal sanctuary provides refuge for animals in need, as well as serving as an educational facility for the community. The non-profit organization hosts school field trips, special needs children, elder activities, at-risk youth programs, and tours for the general public. On your tour, explore nature, meet friendly farm animals, and learn about the history of the land and the animals who reside there. The one-hour tour gives you the chance to kiss a donkey, cuddle a chicken, pet the friendly cats, and even give a belly rub to a pig.

13. Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail, Oahu

Located on the southeastern point of Oahu within the Kaiwi Scenic Shoreline is the Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail, a short and sweet two-mile hike on a fully paved trail to a historic lighthouse.
