Run away from civilization and hide away at Polihale State Park. On the west end of Kauai is a remote beach that can only be accessed by a long, unmaintained dirt sugarcane road.

Filled with potholes and prone to flooding, this isn’t a road you should take anything less than a four wheel drive vehicle along. The road is so rough many rental car companies forbid their cars to head out on it.
But once you arrive at this remote beach you’ll forget how long it may have taken you to arrive.
