Big Island Restaurants
What are some good restaurants on Big Island?
Sure you can swing by the Kona fish market and grill up a fresh fish for supper, but if just want to relax and enjoy the island vibe, there are plenty of places to do so. Here are some of our favorite restaurants on the Big Island, HI:
- Lagoon Grill, Waikoloa Village, HI: This laid-back restaurant has anything but laid-back views. Lagoon Grill is located within the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the gorgeous Kohala Coast. Sit out on the patio overlooking a man-made waterfall surrounded by a quiet blue-green lagoon with nothing but blue skies overhead. That is the magic of Hawaii. A simple burger and fries tastes so good when you are enjoying a moment in paradise.
- Holuakoa Gardens & Cafe, Holualoa, HI: This wonderful farm-to-table restaurant about 12 minutes from the Kona International Airport is one of our favorite spots when spending time near Kailua-Kona. Fresh fish right off the hook, organic produce from farms right down the road, and a garden-like atmosphere that is so wonderfully Hawaii that we get a bit teary-eyed remembering our last visit. We think you'll love it too.
- The Seaside Restaurant and Aqua Farm, Hilo, HI: If you love history and the rich tradition of Hawaii, you'll enjoy dining at one of the oldest restaurants in Hawaii. The Seaside Restaurant and Aqua Farm was established in the 1920s and has been raising fish and feeding tummies ever since. It has been owned by the Nakagawa family since it opened. Unfortunately, the original building located right on the beach was destroyed in a tsunami in 1946. The restaurant was rebuilt and has become a Hawaiian icon that locals will tell you to visit if you want delicious seafood.
