With more than 10 years of experience as a professional writer, Megan holds a degree in Mass Media from her home state of Minnesota. After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
The Hawaiian Islands are home to countless outdoor attractions and places to visit, and while we’d love to spend all of our free time or our entire vacations soaking up the sunshine on our beaches or hiking trails, sometimes the weather is less than ideal. If you find yourself encountering a bit of rain on your Maui vacation, you can, of course, check out any of the island’s museums or cafes, but this glassblowing experience might just be the best way to escape the rain. It’s also one of the coolest souvenirs you’ll find in the Aloha State.
Welcome to Moana Glass, a beautiful glassblowing studio, gallery, and workshop in Lahaina. Owned by Ryan Staub, who has blown glass in eleven different countries and loves sharing his passion for glassblowing through his artwork and lessons, this destination is truly one-of-a-kind.
The gallery features a variety of unique pieces, from island-inspired marine life sculptures and lighting fixtures to kitchen glassware, sinks, and basins.
Moana Glass is the only private studio on the island where you can learn the ancient art of glassblowing and make a Maui souvenir of your own. From starfish, hearts, and fish to bowls and drinking glasses — all in a variety of brilliant colors — you’ll love the souvenir you create at Moana Glass!
Glass projects are charged by the project, not the person, so you can work on a solitary piece with your family or significant other! Projects start at just $150, a small price to pay for a beautiful piece of artwork and an experience you'll never forget.
Moana Glass is open Friday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, or to book your very own glassblowing experience, head on over to their website or follow them on Facebook. Have you ever tried your hand at glassblowing before? Are you going to add it to your Maui bucket list now?
