After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
Whether you are dining at a fancy Italian bistro or simply grabbing a slice from the pizzeria down the street, everyone loves a good slice of pizza. Hawaii isn’t necessarily known for their delicious Italian food, but luckily for us, there are still a few excellent pizzerias across the islands to satisfy that ever-present pizza craving… including this incredible spot that’s found off the beaten path.
Welcome to Manoli’s Pizza Company, a culinary gem that opened along Maui’s southwestern shore in 2012 and has quickly become a favorite amongst locals and tourists alike.
With a focus on fresh, organic, and sustainable products whenever possible, Manoli’s is easily one of the best pizzerias in Hawaii — and maybe even the entire country.
Start your meal with a drink as well as an appetizer. Perhaps you’d like to enjoy a glass of wine with a plate of hummus or stromboli, or maybe even a signature mai tai with garlic-parmesan fries or coconut shrimp? Yum!
Now that you have your drink and appetizer order placed, it’s time to check out the pizzas. From standards like pepperoni and Margherita to innovative flavor combinations that draw inspiration from the islands themselves, these hand-tossed pizzas will drive your taste buds wild.
Their Hawaiian honey pizza made with honey-smoked ham, caramelized pineapple, Maui onion, Pomodoro sauce, and mozzarella cheese is particularly appetizing, though we’re also drawn to their BBQ pulled pork, Mediterranean, and shrimp pesto pizzas also sound delicious.
The menu draws influence from the Meditteranean, where the owner’s father, Manoli, grew up on the largest of Greek’s islands, Crete. Case in point, their delicious greek and plack salads as well as a gyro sandwich.
With twice-daily happy hours and even the option for delivery, there is never a wrong time to eat Manoli’s mouthwatering meals. So, what are you waiting for? This pizzeria may be off the beaten path, but trust us, it's worth the drive!
Manoli’s Pizza Company is located at 100 Wailea Ike Dr., Wailea, HI 96753, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. For more information, visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
