After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
Measuring in at just 6,423 square miles of landmass, the Aloha State might be relatively small in comparison to most mainland states, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of hidden landscapes just waiting to be explored. The Hawaiian Islands are incredibly dense in terms of adventures to be had, but if you’re looking for a unique excursion that will take you far off the beaten path, we know just the place.
Featuring 23 miles of diverse offroad trails, not only does Kauai ATV offer the longest ATV excursion on the Garden Island, but it’s also one of the coolest adventures you’ll ever take.
The three to four-hour ATV Waterfall Tour begins near the old Koloa Sugar Mill and ventures to the benches of Kahili Ridge, where you will discover historic World War II bunkers, a remarkable hidden tunnel, and a cascading waterfall.
The three-hour Plantation Tour is just as wonderful. Journey on plantation trails over Kauai’s most southern point, listen to the tales of Kamehameha from atom an inactive volcanic crater, visit the shoreline of the Waita reservoir...
In order to thoroughly enjoy these tours, wear water-friendly closed-toe shoes and bring sunblock, bug spray. You’ll also want a swimsuit and towel for the waterfall tour.
These tours are perfect for the whole family. Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license, but kids five and up can enjoy being a passenger in the two, three, or four-seat ATVs offered.
Kauai ATV is open daily from 7 a.m to 6 p.m. For more information, or to book an excursion of your own, click here. You can also follow them on Facebook.
