After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
When looking for a new restaurant to visit in the Aloha State, you undoubtedly look for three things: mouthwatering food, a warm and welcoming ambiance, and an unforgettable experience. While the Hawaiian Islands are home to countless incredible restaurants that match this description — including this incredible oceanfront coffee shop — today we’re featuring a charming little cafe that stands out in a crowd.
Whether you're looking for a spot to sit back and enjoy a leisurely meal with friends or simply grab a quick coffee in the morning before heading to work, Kalapawai Cafe & Deli won't disappoint. With two locations on Oahu — in Kailua and Kapolei — you’re sure to find a Kalapawai that’s convenient for you.
Fresh ingredients are purchased from local farmers and ranchers whenever possible, and you can taste the quality in every bite. It’s likely why Kalapawai has received so much recognition over the years.
Daily coffee specials and handcrafted espresso beverages and freshly baked pastries are found alongside a scrumptious breakfast menu full of bagels, English muffins, and french toast as well as breakfast wrap and burritos.
After 5 p.m., Kalapawai Cafe’s menu changes entirely, featuring everything from soups, salads, and sides to fresh seafood, pastas, burgers, and steaks.
But first, you’ll want to order a drink from their extensive wine and beer menu, and perhaps an appetizer for the table to share. Smoked salmon bruschetta, spicy ahi poke, or mango BBQ & pulled pork pizza, anyone?
Please note: dinner reservations are offered in Kapolei only. The Kailua location is seated on a first come, first served basis.
With a unique combination of both rustic and modern touches as well as both indoor and outdoor seating, the ambiance of this quaint cafe can’t be beat.
Kalapawai is an absolute must-visit — whether you’re looking to grab a quick cup of coffee and bite to eat before heading to the beach or want a nice, sit-down meal. So, what are you waiting for?
