Most people are surprised to learn that the Hawaiian Islands are home to countless incredible farms, ranches, and sprawling fields. And while every square mile of rural Hawaii is absolutely delightful, there is one ranch that is well worth a visit. Nestled off Kohala Mountain Road on the northern tip of Hawaii Island, Kahua Ranch is home to a magical sunset dinner that will not only transport you to another world but make you fall in love with the countryside.
Dating back more than a century, this working ranch is home to phenomenal views and some incredible history. Fun fact: Kahua Ranch was a place of rest and relaxation for service members during World War II, and still offers respite to visitors today — especially those who come for the ranch's Evening Sunset Dinner.
Located at 3,200 feet above sea level, the sunsets witnessed over the lush rolling hills, high above the Pacific Ocean, from Kahua Ranch are truly second to none. And while the sunsets rock, it's the entire experience that makes this activity truly worthwhile.
When you arrive you will be greeted by a member of the Kahua Ranch ohana and enjoy an open campfire where you will learn about the history of the ranch.
Then, you’re off to a steak and chicken dinner buffet with all the fixings, including macadamia nut pie for dessert. You will also find an open bar stocked with Kona Brewing Co. beers as well as both red and white wines.
After dinner, guests can make s’mores and have a campfire sing-a-long, line dance, stargaze, learn to rope, pitch horseshoes, or brand a shingle to take home as a souvenir.
Sweeping panoramic views, mouthwatering barbeque, and the experience of a lifetime await at Kahua Ranch. What more could you ask for? Make your reservation for an Evening Sunset Dinner today!
