Hawaii has no shortage of trails with spectacular views. Some are exceptionally long and rugged featuring alluring landscapes you won’t find anywhere else.
If you’re looking for a trail that is more of a peaceful, pleasant stroll with beautiful views, then we have just the route for you: the Ohai Loop Trail.
Your journey begins here, just off the Kahekili Highway where a 1.2-mile loop allows you to meander a portion of the island’s seemingly untouched landscape.
Since it is a loop, you can opt to begin the hike by turning left or right from the sign. Turning left will instantly give you a spectacular view of the shore but turning right will save that view for the end.
The trail twists its way across the land, highlighting the rolling landscape, rocky cliffs, and dense vegetation native to the islands.
The elevation gain is slight and the trail is well-defined, making this an easy trek to do with the kiddos and any family member who prefers a leisurely stroll.
Ohai Loop Trail (also referred to as the Ohai Trail Loop) is located on the northern edge of the West Maui Forest Reserve on Maui. A trail map can be found on the AllTrails website.
