After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
Is there anything better than kicking back on a Hawaiian beach, digging your toes into the sand, and enjoying a good book while listening to the waves crash against the shore? We don’t think so — except, of course, the book you’re reading was purchased at the Annual Friends of the Library book sale, which just went virtual for the first time ever.
Every summer, the Friends of the Library of Hawaii hosts a massive book sale at McKinley High School — the largest book sale in the state! The event was canceled for 2020 but has officially moved online and we couldn’t be more excited.
From cookbooks and children’s books to history, horror, and science fiction, there’s a little something for everyone available during this massive annual book sale. And with prices starting as low as just $1, you’re sure to get a great deal!
After placing your order online, pickup is offered from the organization’s Halawa warehouse three business days after your order. The warehouse is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can also pick up your items at the Manoa Public Library on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
