Polihale State Park may be at the end of a rutted dirt road, but the views from this spot are absolutely worth the visit.
Located on the remote coast of Kauai is a stunning bit of gorgeous beach.
The seventeen-mile stretch of white sand beach and sand dunes offer endless beach-combing and shelling fun. This is a beautiful place to spend the day, or the week, if you’re on Kauai.
It’s not very busy as it resides at the end of a rutted dirt road.
The road is so difficult to navigate that it is highly recommended not to drive unless you have four-wheel drive. And most rental car companies won’t allow their vehicles to be driven out on the road.
The road can flood and become impassable, so be aware during the rainy season.
But if you can make the trip, a picnic on this beach should be at the top of your bucket list. Towering mountains, white sand beach, and more lure you to this remote state park in Hawaii.
But if you can make it all the way out to the beach, it’s well worth it.
This beach is absolutely iconic, with plenty of room to spread out. Be sure not to drive on the beach or sand dunes, as those are protected areas.
The sand beaches are rimmed by the stunning mountains and cliffs nearby.
The giant dunes and gorgeous views are absolutely spectacular. This state park feels like it’s straight out of a fairytale.
Due to misuse, the beach currently does not allow camping overnight anymore.
