After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
From sushi to saimin and Korean barbecue to Asian fusion cuisine, the Hawaiian Islands are undoubtedly home to some of the best Asian food in the country, but many locals would agree that access to scrumptious Latin food is a little trickier. But if you’re craving food with both Asian and Latin influences? Well, then, you should undoubtedly head to Cuatro, one of the most unique fusion restaurants in the Aloha State.
Tucked away on Maui’s southwestern shore in the luxury resort destination of Kihei is Cuatro, a one-of-a-kind restaurant from a veteran of several popular kitchens on Maui, Eric Arbogast who has brought with him his favorite recipes and created a menu that perfectly mingles Latin and Pacific Rim flavors in a cohesive and delicious way.
Start with a salad, the award-winning spicy tuna nachos, mini shrimp tacos, togarashi seared ahi, an Asian-style pork quesadilla, or Latin-inspired vegetarian lumpia.
Entrees include the fresh catch of the day prepared in one of four tasty styles, Acapulco shrimp scampi, Asian marinated grilled steak, south of the border marinated pork, and Asian-style seared stir fry.
We bet you’ve never tasted flavor combinations quite like these. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the mood to enjoy Pacific Rim or Asian cuisine — you’ll surely be satisfied at Cuatro.
Whether you’re looking for a memorable meal on your Hawaii vacation, or are a local looking to try something new, Cuatro tops our dining bucket list this year. Off the beach or out of the hotel room, you’ll be welcomed with open arms and scrumptious foods at Cuatro.
Cuatro is open daily from 4 to 10 p.m. and it is suggested you make a reservation prior to arrival by calling (808) 879-1110. For more information, you can visit their website or follow them on Facebook. Have you been to Cuatro? What’s your favorite dish on the menu?
