Whether you’ve lived in Hawaii your entire life, or you are a recent transplant, there are some things you have come to learn that you simply can’t live without in the Aloha State. From food staples to your favorite outdoor adventure, it would be hard to live without these twelve things in Hawaii.
Luckily for us, seasonal affective disorder doesn’t happen in Hawaii – unless you live in Hilo, which is the rainiest place in the United States, beating even Seattle.

From surfing and kayaking to skydiving and ziplining, Hawaii is full of amazing adventures just waiting to be experienced. As an adventurous spirit, I can’t imagine life without a little adventure.

Or in your car, on your floors, basically everywhere. In Hawaii, beach days are a necessity, and if you’ve stopped finding sand in random places throughout your home or vehicle, it definitely means that it’s been too long.
From shave ice and mochi chocolate covered macadamia nuts to malasadas and haupia pie, almost everyone in Hawaii has a sweet tooth. I mean, how could you not with so many delicious treats and ways to burn off those excess calories?
Don’t you dare tell us that we should be wearing "real shoes." Our slippahs will do just fine, thank you.
