After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
Ernest Hemingway once said that “Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection.” I think he may be onto something — but even more perfect is sipping wine in the paradise that is Hawaii. And while you will find a few wineries scattered across the islands, including Hawaii Island’s Volcano Winery, one of our favorite places to enjoy a wine tasting is this one-of-a-kind wine bar found right here in the heart of Honolulu.
Welcome to Amuse Wine Bar, a sleek lounge that features one of the most unique ways to try different types of vino in the Aloha State.
Offering more than 80 wines — from bold reds to light whites and everything in between — for every occasion imaginable, the wine preservation and serving system at Amuse is not only innovative but provides guests with a wine tasting experience unlike any other.
As soon as guests walk in the door, they will embark on a self-serve tour of wines from across the world. Dispensing only one ounce at a time, you can try as many wines as you’d like.
In addition to 1-ounce pours, an extensive selection of wines are available by the glass and bottle, and a full bar which serves an exciting spirits list, craft beers, and classic cocktails.
To accompany your alcohol, an extensive menu features more than a dozen appetizers — including crab cakes, sashimi, quesadillas, and cheese plates — as well as pizzas and pastas. Of course, you’ll also find a variety of desserts, from cinnamon creme brulee to Vietnamese-style coffee flan.
If you visit from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, you can score a $50 wine tasting card for just $30, as well as discounts on select wines by the glass, beer, cocktails, and food.
Whether you invite your friends for a night out or plan a romantic date with your significant other, you’re sure to love the atmosphere at the ultra-cool Amuse Wine Bar.
