It’s true what they say; Southerners do it best. (Southerners from Georgia in particular, might I add.) There are reasons beyond natural and geographical reasons why Georgia is a phenomenal state. The main reason? The people. Plain and simple. Not only do they have that bit of Southern charm, but then you throw in that hospitality, and you just can’t lose. We’ve come up with 10 reasons why people from Georgia are THE BEST…and let’s just say keeping it to 10 was the trickiest part.
This one is a no-brainer when it comes to people from Georgia. They have that Southern hospitality that just makes you feel good every time you're around it. People from Georgia are extra warm and sweet, not to mention how they go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. You can't get that hospitality everywhere.
If you haven't tried Southern cooking, then what in the world are you waiting for?! People from Georgia can surely throw down in the kitchen unlike any other state. We're talking savory pecan pie, sweet and smooth peach cobbler, creamy and rich shrimp and grits, delectable chicken and waffles. The list goes on.
If you've ever met a Georgia sports fan, you'll understand that they are some die-hard fans to the very end. Take UGA, for example. Although they haven't won a championship in 20+ years, the fans STILL show up week after week and cheer on their favorite team no matter what. That's true fandom.

4. People from Georgia have that Southern charm and grace.
You know what I mean. People from Georgia are the masters of Southern charm, to which their air of smooth-talking wit and wisdom elegantly collide. There also is a stunning grace about them that you just have to chalk up to living in the south.
Being so hospitable and kind normally means they also are outgoing and friendly as well. You know you're in Georgia when people smile at you while they pass on the sidewalk and hold the door for you to enter first. It's that warmth that makes Georgia folks so easy to get along with.
Remember the line from the movie Sweet Home Alabama? "Just because I talk slow doesn't mean I'm stupid." Well, that is absolutely true. In fact, some of the smartest people, who made the biggest impact during their time, were born in this state: Civil Rights activist Martin Luther King Jr., Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter to name a few.
On the weekends in warmer weather you can't go more than a few blocks without seeing a farmer's market pop up with locally sourced food, fruit and vegetables. Folks from Georgia like to keep it local and source out to farms in the area in order to help out fellow neighbors.
8. People from Georgia are knowledgable about their history, and proud of it!
Georgia has a delightfully rich history, and the inhabitants know it very well. They don't just chalk up the history to their state to something that happened in the past, but instead reflect on it often as something that should be remembered and commemorated.

9. People from Georgia like to keep the pace slow.
More often than not, you won't find the hustle-and-bustle of life wearing Georgians down. People from the south tend to work at their own pace and appreciate life rather than let it pass them by.
It's true, people from Georgia know how to have a good time. From festivals to fairs to celebratory parades, there is always something going on. Like the St. Patty's Day parade in Savannah. Did you know it is the second largest...in the world?! That's right, it's three hours long, and everything is dyed green. Talk about a blast every year.
Like I said, keeping the list of why people from Georgia are the best to 10 was the tricky part. I’m sure you can add a few more in the mix.
