It’s no secret that some of the best museums in Georgia are located in the city of Savannah. This historic city has no shortage of museums celebrating art, history, and more. One of the city’s most interesting museums is the American Prohibition Museum. This place is the only museum in the country dedicated to documenting Prohibition, the period of time between 1920 to 1933 when it was illegal to sell, produce, or transport alcohol within the United States. The museum itself is pretty fascinating, and one of the neatest parts about a visit here is that you can purchase an add-on ticket that will allow you a drink at Congress Street Up, a 1920s  Prohibition-style bar in Georgia attached to the museum.

You'll get to see newspaper cartoons, restored vehicles, and artifacts from Prohibition, plus information on how people managed to get drinks despite the law against them.
If that sounds like it'll make you thirsty, don't worry - the museum ends with a walk through Congress Street Up, a speakeasy that will make you feel like you stepped back in time.

There’s a separate entrance to the speakeasy when the Museum is closed, but it has limited hours. Those hours are currently 6:30PM to midnight, Wednesday to Saturday. During Museum hours, however, guests must go through the Museum to access the speakeasy.
