Many people who visit our great state tend to stay in the more obvious places–Savannah, Atlanta, etc,. However, there is so much more to Georgia than meets the eye. In fact we have a ton of underrated, undervalued, and under appreciated cities that are just begging to be explored or adventured through. Here are a few of them, with reasons why you should plan a visit.
Duluth, Georgia has become a clean, friendly, and affordable place to live in the state of Georgia. It’s the perfect city for those who are looking to be close to Atlanta, but still maintain that small town charm. When you visit Duluth, you can learn all about the important role the railroad played in building the town by visiting the Southeastern Railway Museum, or learn all about the city at the Duluth History Museum.
Calhoun is one of the most affordable places to live in the state of Georgia, so that alone makes it worth visiting. However, you can always count on stellar weather when you visit Calhoun, as it stays fairly moderate all year round. When you visit Calhoun, make sure you take a stroll downtown and visit the old GEM Theater, which opened in 1927 and was once a thriving movie and performing arts venue before it closed.

Just outside of Atlanta, you’ll find the beautiful city of Smyrna, a city which really has become something special over the years. Visitors tend to explore the burgeoning culinary scene and really tickle their tastebuds with the restaurants Smyrna has to offer.
