Senoia, GA 30276, USA
Senoia is a small town that's one of our favorite weekend trips in Georgia. The town has recently garnered fame as the filming location for many scenes in the hit television show The Walking Dead. There are lots of great restaurants and shops to visit here, and you can also see some of the sites that appeared in the show.

Helen, GA 30545, USA
Though it doesn't even have a population of 1,000, Helen is truly one of the most magical towns in Georgia. This town was once a player in the logging industry, but over the last several decades, has become a tourist utopia. It's been redesigned to look like a small German village. It's especially magical in the fall, when you'll see some of the best fall foliage in the Peach State. If you're into shopping, the downtown area is delightful, but there's also much natural beauty in this part of the state.

The three-day road trip will take you to three of the best beaches in the state: Tybee Island, St. Simons Island, and Jekyll Island. If you're itching to dip your toes in the water and feel the sand beneath your feet, this trip is just the cure.

Blue Ridge is an ultra-popular destination during the fall months thanks to its brilliant foliage. However, this is a wonderful Georgia getaway at any time of year! It's the quintessential small mountain town, with an adorable Main Street, wonderful little shops, and restaurants, and plenty of gorgeous scenery.

Madison, GA 30650, USA
Madison is one of the best small towns in Georgia, particularly for history lovers. This town was not burned by Sherman during the Civil War, so there's plenty of gorgeous antebellum architecture. This is a very walkable area, so visit on a weekend with good weather!

Athens, GA, USA
Athens is best known as the home of the University of Georgia, but it's also a great Georgia city to visit for a day or weekend. There are tons of delicious restaurants here and the campus is a wonderful place to explore - it's an extraordinarily beautiful school that functions as a park for locals and tourists alike.
