We’ve written about lots of unique overnight accommodations in Georgia. But what if we told you you could stay in an actual train car? The box cars at Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA Holiday allow you to do just that. The resort offers several different train rooms, in addition to traditional cabins and RV or tent accommodations. With 55 acres to explore, plus a train-themed playground, 4,000-square foot clubhouse, and, of course, beautiful Lake Oconee, the fun never ends at this campground in Georgia.
KOA Campgrounds are generally good options because in order to receive the KOA label, the campgrounds must meet rigorous quality standards.
The campground features 13 authentic railroad boxcars that have been converted into cabins. These are available for rent and can sleep either four or six guests, plus they're pet-friendly!
The campground has some stellar amenities, including two swimming pools, a sports area featuring shuffleboard, basketball, and more, and a massive clubhouse featuring a 65-inch TV.
Don't even get us started on the private beach - the pristine white sand and stellar views of Lake Oconee. You'll even find a boat ramp and fire pit here.
