Well, lucky for you there are some pretty awesome alternatives to the usual tourist traps around the state. Instead of going to the usual touristy places in Georgia, do these instead:

Sure the World of Coke is great, but it's been done so many times that it's pretty overrated. Sure coke is great, but there are so many other amazing museums to explore in Georgia.

The National Civil War Naval Museum is a free museum in Columbus, and it's just a wealth of knowledge. This non-profit museum tells the not-often-heard story of the Civil War Navies. It's a huge 40,000 sq. ft. museum that features two original American Civil War Military vessels.

Yes the Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world, but if you want to get an up close and personal view of nature in Georgia, you have to visit the largest blackwater swamp in North America.

The Okefenokee Swamp is located in Waycross, GA, and is nothing short of amazing! There are more than 700 miles of swamp to explore and more than 600 different species of animals to see.

Yes of course, if you're visiting Georgia, you want to go to a Falcons game. However, if you go to a collegiate football game you'll have 10x more fun!

In my honest opinion, collegiate sports are better than professional sports because it just feels more real! The players are not motivated by money and they are truly playing for the love of the game. Plus the energy felt at these games is unrivaled!

BORING! If you're in Georgia, you need to try out southern cuisine. It's not everyday you get to experience the taste of authentic southern cooking.

Walk around in Savannah, and observe buildings that are hundreds of years old with stories that are just as old. It's amazing the amount of historical preservation found in this wonderful city. You will learn much more about our state in Savannah than you will in a museum.
