Us Georgia folks are super lucky. We live in a state with gorgeous sites, great food, warm people, great weather and a reasonable cost of living. What more could you ask for? Here are 12 reasons I’m thankful for living in Georgia:
1. It's absolutely GORGEOUS!
I really don't have enough space to list all the gorgeous sites to see in Georgia. We have waterfalls, creeks, streams, canyons, and parks full of beauty! Pictured above is one of those sites --Vickery Creek Falls in Roswell, GA.

2. We have some of the best neighborhoods to raise a family in.
Peachtree City pictured above is considered one of the best neighborhoods in Georgia. Other places like Augusta and Gwinnett County have some of the best educational systems in the state and country.
3. We have a huge amount of historical artifacts in our state.
A lot of this country's history took place in this state. Some of the most significant battles happened here, and houses that are hundreds of years old are still standing in Savannah. The Etowah Indian Mounds pictured above is a huge artifact depicting the political and religious life of thousands of Etowah Indians.
4. There's so much to do here!
Ziplining in Banning Milles Lodge in Carroll County is just one of the uber fun things you can get into here. Georgia is a tourist's dream! The best part about Georgia's attractions are that the best ones are outside in nature. You can visit the mountains, the Okefenokee Swamp, or just take a stroll through one of our many parks.

5. We have the best barrier islands
Our barrier islands are amazing, historical, and fun all wrapped up in one!

6. We have our own set of natural wonders
If you can't make it to see all of the world's natural wonders at least you can visit the natural wonders right here at home: Amicalola Falls State Park, Okefenokee Swamp,
Providence Canyon,
Radium Springs,
Stone Mountain,
Tallulah Gorge, and
Warm Springs.
7. Our southern hospitality can't be beat.
Our southern hospitality is what we're known for and it's what makes our Georgia home a better place to live!
8. You always have access to fresh produce
With Georgia having a billion dollar agriculture industry, its hard not to notice all of the farmer markets around. You can always find a place to purchase some of the best and freshest produce around. And it supports our local Georgia farmers too!
9. Georgia Football
Thank goodness for Georgia football! We love our football teams--both high school and collegiate level! It's a great way to bring all of us together as a family and it's fun to watch our teams kick everyone else's butts too!
10. Amazing Food
A huge part of our culture lies in our delicious food! Food is at the core of our families. At every church event, school meeting, and family gathering you'll find southern dishes prepared with love, and I'm thankful for that!
11. Amazing weather for 75% of the year.
Of course, Georgia is located in the south and for this reason we are blessed with amazing weather! It's two weeks away from Christmas and more than 60 degrees outside--not bad!
12. Low cost of living
Our reasonable cost of living and great jobs have people flocking to our state from all over the country. It's also a great place to go to college, a thriving community for business owners, and a growing tech hub. I can totally see why they would want to move here!
