When your mind wanders to Italian food, hamburgers don’t typically come to the mind. Burgers are among the most iconic of American dishes. The exact origin of serving a beef patty between buns is unknown, but it seems most likely the first hamburgers were served in the northeastern U.S. in the late 1880s. In any event, they’re certainly not Italian, so it may be surprising to you to learn that we’ve got an Italian restaurant in Georgia that serves up pretty incredible hamburgers. Parma Tavern is a cozy neighborhood gathering spot in Buford that has a diverse menu featuring classic Italian specialties, delicious pizzas, and surprisingly great burgers.
Parma Tavern is in a strip mall in Buford, a suburb of Atlanta that's filled with shops and restaurants to check out.
Inside, you'll find cozy, rustic decor that will make you immediately feel at ease. The restaurant is open late each night, but note that after 10:00 p.m., entry is restricted to those over the age of 21.
In fact, one of the most notable dishes here is a burger. You've probably never had anything like the Krispy Kreme burger before. It's a 1/2-pound black Angus topped with bacon, American cheese, caramelized onions, and BBQ sauce, served up on Krispy Kreme donut buns. Yum!
