She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). We have a lot of great breweries in Georgia, and one of our favorites is one that’s fairly new to the scene. Located in the small city of Commerce, just north of Athens, is a little place called Strange Duck Brewery. This colorful, family-friendly brewery in Georgia offers up loads of fun, a putt putt course, food trucks, live music, trivia nights, and, of course, delicious brews!
Strange Duck Brewing is tucked away in Commerce, a small town about 20 minutes outside of Athens.
Athens is such a great spot for a weekend getaway in Georgia and Strange Duck is one of many places right outside the city that are worth checking out.
The brewery's name represents both the founder, Drake Scott (a drake is a male duck) and his penchant for oddity. Strange Duck opened in the spring of 2020 and has already found much success.
There's a great putt putt course outside, and the brewery has a family-friendly atmosphere that's perfect for those looking for an outing everyone can enjoy.
