She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). Is it just us, or do big city restaurants tend to get all the love? Don’t get us wrong: there are plenty of phenomenal places to eat in Atlanta, Savannah, Macon, and all our other large, metropolitan cities. With that being said, you can certainly find some pretty amazing small-town restaurants in the Peach State. Our small towns in Georgia are spectacular and full of history, fun boutique shops, unique attractions, and, of course, delicious restaurants. One of our very favorite small-town restaurants in the state is the Fish Eye Grill in Burke County. This little spot is tucked away in the little town of Girard. Girard boasts a population of under 200 people, but looking at Fish Eye Grill reviews, you’ll see it has a lot to offer on the dining scene. This place has wonderful service, a great small-town atmosphere, and, of course, delicious food. This rustic spot is definitely worth a visit – check it out:
Girard is part of the sprawling Augusta metropolitan area. It's around 45 minutes away from the city's center, giving it something of a rural feel to it. The population is only around 200 people, making this a quintessential small town in Georgia.
It's here that you'll find the delicious Fish Eye Grill. The restaurant opened up in 2018 and has quickly become one of the most popular restaurants in the area.
The rustic decor and tasty food are so inviting that many drive from out of town just to eat here.
It may sound funny to drive from a larger city like Augusta to a small town for the dining scene, but just one taste of the Fish Eye Grill menu and you'll see why!

The Fish Eye Grill serves up amazing lunch and dinner options at affordable prices. The burger and sandwich offerings here are particularly delectable.
Meat lovers will be in heaven here. There are so many carnivorous choices on the Fish Eye Grill menu. From typical options like brisket, chicken, pulled pork, filet mignon, seafood, and even to the more exotic like duck wontons... the list is virtually endless!
The service here is so friendly that you'll feel like you're dining over at a friend or family member's house. The tasty home-cooked food certainly adds to that impression.
This is one of my favorite parts about dining in a small town. It really feels like the service is better at these spots, doesn't it?
If you want to find an amazing small-town restaurant near Augusta, GA, this is a wonderful option. Southern food doesn't get much better than this, and with a wide array of choices on the menu, there's something to delight everyone here.
