This mountain town is one of the prettiest around, especially in autumn, and there are plenty of things to do in Dawsonville, GA on a fall day. Check it out:

Dawsonville is a rapidly-growing mountain town of around 4,000. It's home to the southern end of the Appalachian Trail, which you can access at Amicalola Falls State Park.

The centerpiece of the park is its eponymous waterfall. At 729 feet in height, it's the tallest waterfall in Georgia and absolutely magnificent, especially when surrounded by autumn hues.

While the park has a variety of trails of different skill levels, you can actually practically drive right to Amicalola Falls if you're not up for a lengthy hike.
Another of Dawsonville's major attractions is the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame.

This car racing museum is a must for NASCAR fans. Father-son champion drivers Bill and Chase Elliott are both from Dawsonville.
